Château de Valcombe, a 10-generation family-owned property since 1740, is located in the heart of Costières de Nîmes between Languedoc and Provence. The family vineyards are close to the Mediterranean Sea and planted on soils boasting the highest concentration of limestone in the region. Valcombe offers refined, concentrated estate wines, all small production from their 12 acre vineyards.
About the Wine
This is a typical Rhone blend of 70% Roussanne and 30% Marsanne, all estate fruit from vines with an average age of 15 years and organically farmed. Fermentation and aging is done in cement tanks. The wine bolsters a light gold color with aromas of fresh, sweet lemon and grapefruit. Full-bodied with intense citrus and pear flavors that are complemented by a touch of grapefruit and minerals.
