This is a true Super Tuscan, a Bordeaux blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot. The 2019 Bolgheri Campo al Mare bursts from the glass with bold, juicy blackberries, tar, smoke, licorice and leather. There is a sense of juiciness paired with expressive inner perfume that makes the 2019 quite appealing, even at this early stage. Floral notes add an attractive upper register on the finish.
