Isaac Bowman Bourbon is aged in charred white oak barrels, then finished in port barrels, some that come from Virginia wineries. This combination of finishing barrels produces flavors of jam with caramel and spice notes.

In 1927, A. Smith Bowman purchased the 7,200-acre Sunset Hills farm to open up a dairy and granary. In 1934, a distillery was built on the farm land and turned it into a family-owned business. Today, the historic family-owned distillery has relocated to Fredericksburg, yet still continues to balance our long-lived traditions, honoring one of Virginia’s great pioneers.
