The Juggernaut label was created a few years ago by the Bogle family. The Bogle family wanted to craft small production, high quality wines but utilizing their vineyard connections that have built over the last 50 years in California. The first wine under the Juggernaut label was the very popular Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon and now they recently introduced a Pinot Noir that is sourced from vineyards in the Russian River Valley AVA where Pinot Noir is king. Juggernaut Pinot Noir is aged for 14 months in mostly new French oak, adding richness and restraint.
This Pinto Noir is fresh with a silky textured on the palate. Aromas of red fruit, predominately strawberry and ripe raspberry with a backdrop of dried herbs and spices. Once the wine opens up, the palate reveals notes of tasted oak, vanilla, violets and raspberries.
If you like light to medium-bodied reds with a fresh palate and hints of spice on the finish this is a must try.
The Juggernaut Pinot Noir is a versatile, food friendly wine that would be great with oily fish like salmon or tuna or with lamb or pork dishes that have a fruit based sauce or chutney.
