This wine is produced from vines planted in 1969 in the high elevation vineyards of San Martin Valdeiglesias – northwest of Madri. ‘Zestos’ means ‘basket’ in Spanish. Years ago, baskets like those on the label were used to transport grapes from vineyards to wineries. Lots of kirsch, strawberry, black currant and licorice aromas jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, richly fruity, surprisingly intense red. A staggering value.
